Tourist Visa (subclass 600)

A tourist visa allows a visitor to stay in Australia on a short-term basis (3 months, 6 months or 12 months – depending on different circumstances).

With this visa, you can:

· visit family or friends

· be in Australia as a tourist

To apply for this visa, you must:

· intend to come to Australia to visit only

· not work in Australia

· have access to sufficient funds to cover your return airfares, tuition fees and the cost of living in Australia

· detail the plan of your visit to Australia

Application process

· Prepare documents to apply for a tourist visa;

· Organize for overseas health cover if necessary;

· Apply for the visa;

· Meet the health and character requirements

After completing all the above steps, you will be granted the visa by DOHA.

General requirements for tourist visa (subclass 600)

Evidence of financial capacity

You can demonstrate this capacity by providing the following:

Approximately $10,000 in your bank account either in form of savings, money deposit or bank balance;

Evidence of regular income in the form of payslips or statement of employment from the employer

Arrangement for home travel

You need to demonstrate your genuine intention to come back to your home country after your visit. You can do this by providing the following:

· Return airfare

· Property and assets in home country

· Letter from employer stating plan for work after returning
