Short-Term Stream
Occupation must be listed on the Short-Term Skilled Occupations List (STSOL)

Medium-Term Stream – up to four years
Your occupation is on either the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) or the Regional Occupation List (ROL)

Labour Agreement Stream
Your employer has to have a labour agreement with the Australian government in effect.

You might be eligible to apply for the TSS Visa if you have an Australian employer who is willing to sponsor you and meet the following requirements:

Age

There is no age limit.

Experience

You must have at least 2 years relevant work experience in the nominated occupation or a related field.

Applicants must gain this experience within the previous 5 years before applying. Equivalent part-time work may be considered.

Occupation

TSS Visa applicants must be qualified or have sufficient experience in an occupation listed on the relevant skilled occupation list.

Sponsor
(unless under the labour agreement stream)

Before you can apply for a TSS visa, your proposed employer will need to submit a nomination application for you.

They will only be able to do this if they are an approved sponsor or have at least submitted an application to become a Standard business sponsor.

Skill Assessment

Some primary TSS visa applicants must undergo a mandatory skills assessment as part of the visa application process.

Health Insurance

482 Temporary Visa holders must maintain adequate health insurance while in Australia.

Health & Character

You must meet the health and character requirements

Others

• Not have had a visa cancelled or a previous application refused.
• Have paid back your debt to the Australian government.
